KU is one of Australia’s largest and leading providers of preschools, child care and early education services, and remains proudly not for profit. With 150 centres around Australia, KU delivers, supports and leads high quality inclusive play-based learning programs. They provide opportunities for children to become the creators, thinkers and doers of today and tomorrow. KU Professional Services and Learning offers a suite of courses that can be tailored to meet the professional learning needs of early childhood teachers, educators and practitioners.

Challenge

Outdated and ineffective presence.


KU’s website was extremely outdated, unusable and ineffective as a marketing tool. They approached Yump to revitalise the entire digital presence and expand its functionality to include a childcare centres directory, integration of professional development courses, careers and job search.

Solution

Engaging the whole organisation in UX.


Yump conducted stakeholder workshops to engage multiple levels of the organisation in the design thinking process, from KU’s CEO to their marketing assistants. This produced insights from all business sectors to create the content strategy required for the new website. We also prioritised functionality according to user needs, resulting in a multi-faceted website that effectively targets parents looking for childcare services, educators seeking professional development and job seekers hunting for childcare jobs.

The revitalised KU website has received strong support and extremely positive feedback from all stakeholders, including executives, staff and parents. Not only did the number of online enquiries jumped (more than 5000 enquiries in four months), the new website experienced a 287% increase in organic search traffic as well as a 113% increase in total traffic (from about 54,000 visitors to 116,000 visitors).
