The Hub supports educators implementing the Berry Street Educational Model with resources, tools, and materials to help build safer, healthier and more engaging classrooms for all students. We led the website transformation project that included UX research and development of a clear implementation roadmap for the new Hub.

A disjointed user experience
The existing hub suffered from a range of issues, including a lack of a reporting function to track user activity and gather insights. Poor documentation and training hampered effective site administration. Issues such as blocked system-generated emails by school SPAM filters were hindering communication pipelines.
Low understanding of user needs and expectations had led to a disjointed user experience and the look and feel of the portal was outdated. These shortcomings created missed opportunities preventing the hub from truly fulfilling its purpose.
Fostering a community of practice
We conducted both internal and external discovery workshops to understand user and business needs. Findings were validated by conducting user interviews and all insights were documented in a comprehensive discovery recommendations report. Discovery artefacts included personas, user journeys and use cases.
A recommendation was made regarding the most suitable CMS for the alumni hub and a prioritised feature roadmap covered key features of it. This included improved resource navigation with search and filtering. Site administrators can track resources viewed, user logins and more. By implementing comprehensive engagement metrics they can optimise content for alumni. This takes the form of identifying topics of interest, prioritising key topics, and deciding what new content is most in demand by their audience.
The ability for alumni to like and comment also helps foster a community of practice, driving advocacy of BSEM. Our solution was ultimately geared towards helping educators achieve implementation of BSEM in their classroom and the whole school.
Safer, healthier and more engaging classrooms
The amount of resources accessed per user each visit has tripled, providing educators with richer tools and materials to help build safer, healthier and more engaging classrooms. Besides accessing more resources each visit, the frequency in which they return to the hub has increased sixfold, reflecting a strong and expanding community of dedicated educators. As for new users, the Alumni Hub saw an uptick of 260%, connecting past and present members in a vibrant community where they connect and drive advocacy of the BSEM.
