Challenge

Poor audience visibility

Wanting to ensure that its focus remained relevant, the Matilda Centre needed an independent UX review of two drug education websites: Positive Choices and Cracks In The Ice.

It lacked an understanding of its core user and their needs and wanted recommendations in the areas of content, information architecture, design and functionality.

Solution

Holistic UX redesign

We quickly identified the need for a comprehensive site redesign. We began by learning user needs and conducting an audit of the previous site map.

We then conducted workshops with a diverse group of stakeholders and interviewed 12 representative users before producing a recommendations report.

These insights were then applied to devise a new site structure and look and feel that incorporated existing brand guidelines.

Outcomes

Improved information access for the wider community

In the end, our digital redesigns came to life thanks to the adoption of evidence through a co-design approach with the Matilda Centre’s team of researchers, academics and website users.

This process guaranteed that the end site would merge information accuracy with excellent usability standards – and ultimately better help vulnerable people seeking information and support.
